At Queensland Firsts we are thrilled to have submissions from our readers who can write articles that would make our platform more informative and insightful. Besides posting article by our knowledgeable and experienced team of writers, we encourage people to send in entries and we publish the ones that meet our criteria and guideline with the name of the authors. If you are interested in become a contributor, then read the following guideline.

Rules for Article Writing

We look for content that is in-tune with our platforms categories and themes. To get a idea about what kind of articles we post, please explore our website. We post articles on different types of categories such as Queensland’s first, its history, fun facts about the state and its cities, education, schools and universities in Queensland and much more.

Please submit all documents in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx). Ensure the heading and body text are in different font sizes and fonts should be Verdana, Calibri, Arial, or Times New Roman.

Writers should share accurate references for all data and information used, and their sources should be mentioned in the article. We prefer articles with references to government and educational sources.

You can send articles at any time and we will review them before letting you know whether we can publish it or not. Although we are flexible, please try to share your articles Monday to Friday between 8 am to 5 pm for a quick review and response.

We love a thoroughly proof read copy and appreciate writers who edit or omit mistakes before submitting their work. We do review the content but appreciate when the content don’t need extensive proof reading. After we have reviewed your article, we share it again with the writer marking the edits and revisions to get approval before publishing.

Images

• Most of our blog posts contain two to three images related to the post.
• We only accept images that are high resolution.
• If you are sharing digital copies of images ensure they are in JPEG format.
• All images shared via a digital copy or link should be original and royalty-free with a creative common license that requires no attribution. We will not accept copyrighted images.
• If including a photo with your article, please submit it in JPEG format.
• Images clicked and created by the author should have name, date of creation or capture, and the location for proper attribution. When you share such images you give us permission to use the image on our platform.
• Original images shared by writers are never shared by us without proper attribution.
